3. Secure Transmission & Storage (Canopy SOC 2 Compliance)


All client documents and sensitive data are transmitted and stored through Canopy, a secure tax
and accounting platform with SOC 2 certification for data protection.


Security Measures Include:

  • End‐to‐end encrypted document transfers

  • Secure client portal access

  • User authentication and restricted data permissions

  • Internal data access protocols and audit trails

Clients are required to submit documents through the secure portal to ensure full protection and
compliance with IRS data security standards.

4. Disclosure of Information


We do not disclose client information to third parties except:

 

  • When required to provide contracted services (e.g., e‐file providers, payroll processors)

  • When authorized by you in writing

  • When required by law, court order, or government agency (including the IRS)

  • To protect against fraud or unauthorized transactions

Any permitted disclosures follow GLBA confidentiality requirements.

5. GLBA Privacy Rule Compliance


As a provider of tax and financial services, Harbor Point Tax Advisors, LLC complies with
the Gramm‐Leach‐Bliley Act Privacy Rule, which requires:

6. Professional Credential Notice & Circular 230 Compliance


Harbor Point Tax Advisors, LLC is owned and operated by an Enrolled Agent (EA), a federally
authorized tax practitioner licensed by the U.S. Treasury. As an EA:

 

  • We are permitted to represent clients before the IRS in audits, collections, and appeals.

  • We are required to comply with Circular 230, including ethical standards, due diligence requirements, and legal restrictions on tax advice and representation.

  • Any federal tax advice provided is governed by Circular 230 and is not intended or written to be used for the purpose of avoiding penalties under the Internal Revenue Code unless expressly stated to meet those requirements.

7. Client Rights


You have the right to:

 

  • Request a copy of your stored information

  • Request corrections to inaccurate data

  • Request clarification regarding this privacy policy

  • Limit disclosure of your nonpublic information where permissible by law

We retain client records only for the period necessary to comply with IRS regulations, legal
